Appeal for information launched after man is threatened at bank machine in Derby |
||
We are appealing for information after a man was threatened at a bank machine in Derby city centre. The victim was withdrawing money from the ATM near the Post Office on Babington Lane at about 2.45pm on Sunday 5 October when he was approached by a group of men. One of the men tried to barge the victim out of the way and threatened to take the money. The victim, a man aged in his 40s, managed to flee the scene unharmed and with no money stolen. Officers were dispatched to the scene and arrested a man in connection with the incident just nine minutes after we received the call. The 38-year-old man remains in custody this morning. The suspect is described as a white man, who was on a bike and wearing grey sports trousers, a black jacket, a t-shirt that was possibly blue in colour, a black backpack and grey Nike shoes. We are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to please come forward. We are also keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that covers the area of the incident and has not yet spoken to officers. Information can be passed to us using one of the methods below and please quote incident number 25*585267: You can also anonymously contact the independent charity CrimeStoppers, on 0800 555 111, or by visiting the CrimeStoppers website: https://crimestoppers-uk.org/ | ||
